9/01/02

Lots of information as well as links to the recent con report, website, and fanfic part here. Please check it out. See you September 28th!

8/30/02

Hey! Sorry for the delay, etc. etc., but I finished Part 11 of Blue Planet, White Moon and I think it's finally worth the wait. I have much to say and no time to say it (no--I am never not in a rush), so I'll be back Sunday. Until then, enjoy the fic part. Oh, and for those who missed it, my Otakon report is here. Take care!

Post-Otakon

The following update is copied from liannesentar.com (please go there rather than here--it's much better!). Thank you.

Sweet God ... I had the absolute time of my life at Otakon. For those of you who came to see me, thank you! Everyone I met was wicked; I went to dinner with famous people, hung out with the incredibly cool Otakon staff (you guys are amazing!), and attacked cosplayers so I could take their frightened, pleading-for-mercy pictures. My first convention experience was not only a total blast, it was laced with the awesomeness (not a word) that is being a guest. I was treated so well I ... I, well, couldn't believe it, to tell you the truth. I've never been courted so finely in my entire life. Fans, guests, and staff, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

There is much to be done now, oh yes. I'm currently working on pre- and post-Otakon e-mails, a convention report to explain in detail just how cool everything was, and synching the Tripod version of this site so it'll be as finely-tuned as this one (it's still suffering from the older layout). Please keep in mind that the Tripod site is a small mirror, and should only be visited when you have specific business there (the only type of which I can imagine being to sign the guestbook or check the hit count). Tripod's hourly bandwidth restraints are an issue now that my site's more heavily-visited, and people going there rather than here can lock that site up for hours at a time. Please bookmark this .com address and come here rather than there. The tripod site is still the top match on Google when "Lianne Sentar" is typed in the search, so I'd like its bandwidth to be reserved for first-time visitors; the rest of you can come here so you'll be free of pop-ups and have an earlier URL to remember. ^_^

I'm afraid Sleep is for the Weak (PG-13), my day job, getting ready for school in the fall, and my new Tokyopop job (I'll announce the new project I'm working with them on when I'm able) have been keeping me busy enough to make working on this site and a full-night's sleep strange, surreal fantasy objects just beyond my fingers. Well, my work and my new gorgeous Escaflowne TV DVD boxset and Ultimate Edition Movie DVD, both of which I can't stop running my hands all over. My next update will be in two weeks, and will feature the con report, fixed Tripod site, and fixed fanfic links at this address (you've probably noticed my fics are still hosted at Tripod; I must get them hosted here or they could freeze up with my other bandwidth issues at Tripod). I'm also going to be doing mad e-mail work until then. Which reminds me--would the sweet fan who asked if she (I think it was a she) could give me a copy of her manuscript at Otakon and whom I never replied to please e-mail me? I actually lost your e-mail and therefore couldn't write back, and then didn't see you at the convention, but I wanted to talk to you so give me a buzz. And on that note, if the young man at Otakon who stopped by the Tokyopop booth dressed like Sanji from One Piece with the pink apron and the wicked yellow shades is reading this, oh my God e-mail me.

When I can have the next part of Blue Planet, White Moon up (hopefully before August ends) will also be announced on next update, Wednesday, August 21st, 2002. See you then, and take care!

7/21/02

Hi! Sorry for the lateness; I slept in, then there was a bit of an emergency to deal with. Ah, the stresses of the week before convention. ^_^ Anyway, I have my final appearance times! At Otakon this week, I will officially be at the following:

-Otakafe, at 3pm on Friday, at the A Sailor Moon Romance (surf with caution) Discussion Board/Sailor Moon fanfiction readers and writers get-together. To learn more about A Sailor Moon Romance, go here. Also, check out the Discussion Board on their site if you're interested in joining in.

-Panel 3, from 5-6 pm on Friday, on the "Getting Published" panel

-Tokyopop Booth #911, from 12-1pm Saturday, Booksigning #1

-Tokyopop Booth #911, from 11am-12pm Sunday, Booksigning #2

Other than that, when I'm not checking out the convention or have other places to be, I'll try to be at the Tokyopop booth. In other words, if you can't make any of these times, you can always try the Tokyopop booth. ^_^ Also, I believe Tokyopop will be selling copies of the Sailor Moon novels and Children of the Sky during the booksignings, so you can always pick up copies when you're there and have me sign them.

Also, I'm happy to announce that Amethist will be working the Tokyopop booth for much of the convention. Feel free to stop by the booth and meet her as well! She and I will be acting out The Wacky Adventures of Psycho Setsuna from 5-6, so come watch! (Kidding. ^_^)

I will be back for either one final update prior to the convention (probably very late Wednesday or very early Thursday), or, if I run out of time, I'll update right when I come back. Launches of www.liannesentar.com and www.sleepisfortheweak.org (surf with caution) should still be late Wednesday or early Thursday as scheduled.

Yes, still doing e-mails. ;_; I'll at least get through all the Otakon ones before I go, don't worry. New fanfic part will be up sometime in August, I'll have more details later. Hope to see you all at Otakon!

7/17/02

I'm sorry this update is so delayed! I actually forgot to do it on Friday, then on Saturday I started putting it together, Amethist came over to hang out, I left my computer for a second to go do something, she sat down, pushed a button, and ... poof, the update vanished. ^_^; It was pretty funny, but I was also really busy that night and couldn't do it over, and after that I never really got around to doing it. I'm sorry! ;_; On a more positive note, I have more Otakon info now than I did on Friday or Saturday, so now's a better time for the update, anyway. Honest. ^_^

I am launching TWO new websites the Thursday morning (July 25th) before I leave for the con: 1.) the mirror of this site on www.liannesentar.com which means yay, no more pop-ups, plenty of space, and hopefully no more bandwidth troubles like I noticed a week or two ago (looks like lots of people have been visiting this site recently), and 2.) a brand-new anime/manga/gaming/etc. collective I've been working on and off on for about a year with a group of other people. Now, the collective should be really cool, and I'm working my derriere off to get it up and running before Otakon, but it is more adult than this website and is more for the PG-13 and up audience. Just a warning, so you younger kids or those of you particularly impressionable can stear clear. I'll have more details regarding it up on my next update here, and there will be a lot of warnings on the site itself, so you don't have to worry too badly about stumbling on anything horrible if you read the disclaimers and whatnot. The url will be www.sleepisfortheweak.org, and right now consists only of a timer until launch on July 25th. I'll be promoting both of these websites at Otakon.

Now, at the actual convention I should be doing one panel, two booksignings for Tokyopop, and will hopefully be a part of the get-together with the A Sailor Moon Romance (surf with caution) crowd. As of right now, it looks like my panel is Friday 5-6, booksignings are Friday afternoon sometime and Saturday 12-1, and the Sailor Moon Romance crowd will be around 2 or 3 on Friday. Now, none of these times are set in stone yet, but I think the final times I announce will be along these lines. I should be able to announce the final times (and places where available) this Saturday on this site, when I update again. Be here! Oh, and I'm still sorting through my e-mails, so if you're still waiting for a reply, particularly if you asked me something about the convention, don't worry because I'll get to it before Otakon. And a few extra notes: looks like a few of my friends, including Amethist, will be working the Tokyopop booth this year. I'll also be hanging out there quite a bit, so come to the Tokyopop booth if you can't make any of these other signings and whatnot and maybe you'll catch Amethist and/or me.

More details this Saturday, when I will honestly remember to update. ^_^ Thanks for your patience. Take care until then!

7/4/02

Happy 4th of July! Blue Planet, White Moon Part 10 is up, hope you enjoy it. And sorry there's no real action--Parts 9 and 10 were necessary interlude. ^_^ Come to Otakon this July! It looks like the panel I'm a guest for is going to be Friday evening (of the convention), and on that Friday afternoon, barring any problems, from 2-3 is going to be a big get-together for Sailor Moon fanfic writers/fans including Andrea Hui, the founder and head of A Sailor Moon Romance! If you love Sailor Moon fics, you should be there! I'll have more details regarding that later. Oh, and it looks like I'll probably be doing some things with Tokyopop (such as booksignings), too, for Otakon, so come to the convention so I can meet you all! I'm in a wicked rush right now, and I'm sorry I'm updating later today than I said I would (I took a long nap -_-;), but I'll be back a week from Friday with more updates. I need to get more details regarding Otakon, and I need to do more e-mails! And that next Amateur Author Update ... man, I'm so behind. ;_; Sorry, I'm working really hard on website stuff right now! My day job is pretty light this summer, so I actually have time now. See you in a week and a day!

6/14/02

Hey! Been a while; sorry for such a long break between updates. School's finally over and I finally got to Syria, so after that lovely trip I'm back and ready to work. Blue Planet, White Moon Part 9 is up at last, and, since it's a short interlude-type thing, I'll update in two short weeks with Part 10. K? Sorry, but I wanted to make sure I got this update up on time, and I'm already taking away from the sleep I need before work tomorrow morning (look at me! Updating at 2 in the morning on the day of the update! So early! See how I love you! ^_^). Some great news--I'm gonna be a guest at Otakon this July, so I hope to meet some of you there. And yes, as that webpage states, I am working for Tokyopop again, which is more good news. ^_^ Unfortunately, I can't announce the project I'm working on with them right now, but I hope to soon. I'm wicked psyched to be able to work professionally for them again, since it's been such a long time since I've been published.

On a slightly less positive note, I was having some major e-mail trouble until about a week ago. IF YOU EVER RECEIVED A BLANK E-MAIL FROM ME WITH AN ATTACHMENT FROM ANY OF MY E-MAIL ADDRESSES, DON'T DOWNLOAD OR SAVE IT TO YOUR COMPUTER BY ANY MEANS! I rarely send attachments, but if I ever send an attachment to anyone, I'll write out a comprehensive e-mail with it saying exactly what the attachment is. Otherwise you may be getting a virus (there was either a hacker or a virus (or both) in my accounts causing trouble the past month or two ...). I think I've solved the problem by now, but it's an important thing for all of you to know, anyway. E-mail's still behind, but I'm deeply in the process of dealing with it, and now that I've fixed my accounts, I should be able to. ^_^ E-mail situation should be much better by next update.

Oh, and I'm working on the next Amateur Author Dedication. It'll be up soon. Sorry, sorry--I need to stop playing video games and get to work. ^_^; Next update is in two weeks. See you then!
